General Dentistry

At Bridge House we use a number of techniques and technologies to give you successful resolution of a range of issues, from a single missing tooth to more serious problems.

Bridges

Bridges are an excellent cosmetic solution for people who are missing one or two teeth and who find wearing removable dentures uncomfortable.

Extractions

We view extraction only as a last resort and will make every effort to save your original teeth where possible.

Crowns

Crowns can be produced in a variety of shades to best match your natural colour. Your crown can take up to two weeks to make and we can fit you with a temporary crown to protect the damaged tooth in the meantime.

Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment moves and straightens teeth to improve their appearance - and make them work better.

Wisdom Teeth

By taking a simple x-ray, we will be able to see the best course of action to take and if removal is necessary. We are often able to do this under local anaesthetic.

Root Canal

Under local anaesthetic the infected root is cleaned deeply and temporarily filled while the infection passes. When the infection is cleared, the tooth is plugged with a permanent filling and is just as strong as any other tooth.

When a filling, veneer or crown is required, we can use the pioneering new ‘CEREC’ system for speed, convenience and superb results.

This process does away with unsightly grey fillings, and makes it much easier to create new crowns and veneers. Usually in just one appointment, we use a special 3D camera to create a digital model of the tooth. Then with our state-of-the-art onsite technology we can manufacture high quality ceramic fittings in just a few minutes.

With CEREC, procedures which used to take two weeks or more can now be completed in just an hour or two. The results are long lasting, comfortable and to an incredibly high standard. We will discuss your specific situation as appropriate in more detail to explain the way that CEREC can give you back strong, beautiful teeth.

Oral sedation dentistry is a medical procedure involving the administration of oral sedative drugs, generally to facilitate a dental procedure and reduce patients fear and anxiety related to the experience.

Dental patients with generalized anxiety, belonephobia (fear of needles and sharp instruments), prior dental trauma, or generalized fear of the dentist can take oral medication in order to reduce their anxieties. A variety of single and incremental dose protocols are used to medicate the patient as early as the day before treatment. Medication additionally helps reduce memory or the sights and smells of the dental office to avoid recall of any trauma. The sedative effect allows more dentistry to be completed in fewer appointments as well as allowing complex procedures to be performed in less time.

Invisalign

Your smile has a significant Your smile has a significant impact on your life, whether it is your professional or social life; having a great smile can make you feel happier and more confident.

Invisalign® straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.

Invisalign® aligners can be taken off whenever you require, so you can eat whatever you want, maintain good oral hygiene, and choose to remove them briefly for special occasions such as weddings or big meetings. Your lifestyle remains intact! There are no metal or sharp edges so they are also comfortable to wear.

How long will treatment take? This will be dependent on each case as every smile will require its own tailored treatment plan to achieve the desired results. You will be required to wear the aligners as much as possible to see the best result but typically treatment can last between 9 and 18 months. During your consultation, we will provide you with more a more detailed treatment plan customised to your needs.

Implants

“Tooth loss can be a traumatic experience. This is true whether you have lost one tooth or more as a result of decay, disease, accident or age, and can cause concern about how your appearance or ability to eat inhibits your day-to-day.”

Implants are suitable for patients of all ages and can be a life-long solution to tooth loss. The process involves creating an artificial substitute for the root of a natural tooth, with a small screw fitted into the jawbone to anchor an artificial tooth firmly in place.

We have extensive experience in placing and restoring from single to multiple implants. Often we use the latest CT scanning imagery (shown above) to plan the treatment so that we can place the implants in the most optimal position. We use the most widely used implant technology and most widely researched implants made by Nobel Biocare
