At Bridge Dental Practice we are proud of our team of dentists, hygienists, nurses and support staff. Led by Dr Jonathan Cliffe, the team has extensive experience of both restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Jonathan Cliffe BDS MFGDP MMedSci DPCO DPDS
Principal Dentist
The principal dentist at Bridge Dental, Jonathan has been here for 33 years. After qualifying from the University of Bristol in 1987, he gained further qualifications within a few years. He holds the MFGDP qualification, which is a measure of quality in General Dental Practice examined by the Royal College of Surgeons, and a Diploma in Postgraduate Studies with specialities in Periodontics and Pain and Anxiety Control.
Jonathan’s career initially involved working at several district hospitals as an oral surgeon. Since joining Bridge Dental he often continued to work in hospitals, specialising in orthodontics and implantology. This is an area in which he has a real passion, gaining a Masters Degree in Dental Implantology from the University of Sheffield in 2005 and a Diploma in Primary Care Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons/British Orthodontic Society in 2011.
The wide range of skills Jonathan has developed over three decades enables him to provide a holistic approach to treating each case. He maintains his knowledge about the latest techniques by attending numerous courses and conferences each year. A recent highlight was to meet Paulo Malo, a leading innovator in the field of dental implants, at his clinic in Portugal.
Married to Nicola with grown up sons, Jonathan enjoys cycling (including on his daily commute) and taking his beloved Parson Russell Terrier, Ernie, for long runs into the countryside. He also watches his hometown team of Barnsley Football Club. Jonathan’s General Dental Council registration number is 62607.
Racheal Hunns
Dental Nurse and Practice Manager
Rachael has worked at Bridge Dental for over six years, but has been a dental nurse for over 30 years. She finds it a very satisfying job and has enjoyed being able to extend her skills working alongside Jonathan, particularly in the fields of implants and sedation. Her hobbies include helping out on the family farm, showing her horses and cooking. Rachael’s General Dental Council registration number is 128352.
Julie Woolley
Receptionist
Julie has worked at Bridge Dental for ten years. She takes great pride in being known personally by many patients. To relax she enjoys cooking, gardening, walking and spending time with her family.
June Bird EDH
Hygenist
June has had a varied career in dentistry, starting with six years in the Women’s Royal Air Force. Her career has also included a period living in Wales, working with special needs children and adults in the Community Dental Service, as well as working in private dental practices. For the past 17 years she has been at Bridge Dental, where she has built considerable respect for her skills as a hygienist and the advice she gives our patients on oral health.
June is well liked for the rapport she has built with parents and the way she puts them at ease. She takes great satisfaction from helping nervous and anxious patients to feel more comfortable, partly be creating a relaxed atmosphere in the surgery.
Her main interests outside work are singing, baking, crafts and spending time with her family and friends. June’s General Dental Council registration number is 2665.
Joy Dunnette
Dental Nurse
Joy has been a Dental Nurse for 20 years, and has been with us at Bridge Dental for over five years. Outside of the practice, she especially enjoys holidays and spending time with her two dogs. Joy’s General Dental Council registration number is 131451.
Bethan Poole
Dental Nurse
Bethan has been a fully qualified Dental Nurse for three years and believes that working at Bridge Dental has given her the best start to her career as it has allowed her to continually develop as a professional. Her hobbies include shopping, spending time with friends and family, going to gigs and visiting new countries and cities. Bethan’s General Dental Council registration number is 270249.
Claire Lawrenson
Receptionist
Claire has worked at Bridge Dental for six years and has a gift for putting patients at ease just by engaging them in conversation. Her hobbies include riding her motorbike, keeping fit and playing centre forward for her local football team.
